The NAZI, The Boogeyman and The Paperclip

If you were watching movies in 1981 there was a horror comedy with a very scary scene, it was that of a family watching TV and upon answering a knock at the door they were cut down by machine-gun toting werewolf NAZI’s

These days that scene is scary for a different reason.

People fear its real.

Social media platforms are working hard to create a safe space free of the boogeyman.

Like wild animals they all signal to one another there’s a NAZI in their midst.

Mastodon.social has a better user interface, a non-exploitative financial model, an extremely nice community, and no Nazis.

In psychology the term is bogyphobia , the website known as program secure? covers some of the causes.

So, we have a lot of context, Nazi, Boogeyman and some info on fear causation, what about the paperclip?

a secret United States intelligence program in which more than 1,600 German scientists, engineers, and technicians were taken from former Nazi Germany to the US for government employment after the end of World War II in Europe

interesting, while some shut out, and down, others recruit?

Kurt H. Debus, a former V-2 rocket scientist who became a NASA director… shiny example, not limited either, so the US, the world super power, recruits while the public appears to dumb down, willingly? …surely there’s a lesson here?

Why isn’t mastodon.social winning? Fear and a false narrative, DEI is not truly DEI if the default for disliked persons is the NAZI label, you want DEI, then be DEI, not fear mongering hypocrites, open up the fediverse or be replaced by the next thing that will.

@firearms-blog.sixguns.com Good point at the end. Let's just call it equality. Leaving out those things that degrade the family or preservation and continuance of homo sapiens, drop the veiled DEI message which is used to silence those you disagree with, or drop DEI. Hypocrisy is not becoming.
